Neater lines from floor to splashback

Protect busy surfaces and finish the room
Kitchen wall tiles protect areas around sinks and preparation zones while adding colour, shape and texture. Floor tiles need to cope with foot traffic, spills and regular cleaning. We install both, planning the layout around cabinetry, worktops, sockets and plumbing fittings so edges and cut lines meet sensibly. Tile size, pattern and grout colour can make the same room feel very different. Large formats may create a calmer look, while smaller or patterned tiles add more visible detail. You can view selected porcelain floor tiles in our Portadown showroom before deciding what suits the kitchen.
Good tiles still need a sound background
An even finish starts below the tile. We check the relevant surfaces and include floor levelling or preparation where the room requires it. This helps tiles sit evenly and reduces awkward lips between edges. We also agree starting lines and visible junctions before fitting, because a poor layout can leave thin cuts in the most obvious part of the room. The sequence depends on the design: some wall tiling follows worktop installation, while floor preparation may need to happen earlier. We coordinate those stages with cabinet fitting and service points rather than treating the tiled areas as empty rectangles.

Frequently asked questions
Can I view floor tiles before choosing?
Yes. Selected porcelain floor tile ranges are available to view in our Portadown showroom. Seeing the surface and colour in person can make it easier to compare options with your planned kitchen doors and worktops.
Do kitchen floors always need levelling?
No, but the floor must provide a suitable, even base. We assess the surface and identify any levelling or preparation required before tiling. Skipping that stage can leave poor alignment and raised edges between tiles.
Should splashback tiles go in before the kitchen?
The sequence depends on the design and the areas being tiled. Splashbacks commonly need the fitted worktop and cabinet positions as reference points. We plan the order so cuts and junctions meet the completed kitchen neatly.
